New Stories and Poems for the New Year

Welcome to 2010, where we’re all looking forward to a year filled with wonderful literary pursuits.
Congratulations to Michal Mahgerefteh  and Karen Karlitz. They both have the honour of being the first two writers published on Scribblers on the Roof in 2010.  Check out Michal’s three beautiful poems from her work-in-progress chapbook Red Thread Around My Wrist. Then head on over and read Karen’s funny and touching story, Pursuing Happiness.

If you’re looking to read more great Jewish poetry, be sure to check out the latest edition of The Blue Jew Yorker. (Don’t you just love the title?) The latest issue is online now.

Following an excellent review of her latest novel  in the Los Angeles Times, there’s an interview with Katherine Weber over at the Hartford Courant about her latest book True Confections. It’s worth a read, and definitely worth picking up a copy (I certainly plan to). Reading a story with a Jewish theme that’s  also about chocolate? How can you resist?
