Maki at Racaiim
Maki at Rechov Racaiim
Bejeweled tuna, bass, salmon.
Sunny Middle Eastern day.
Palestinian cabbies pray
For my youths’ demise.
While reading dazzling alumni news,
Anglo-viewed success,
Four-color charted fate.
While my Semitic cousins wait
Whether I live or breathe.
I walk Baka, Colony,
Park near commerce harmony,
Fasten purse strings; my tik’s well packed.
Anticipating urban-pocket jacks,
Bombs, abductions, stabbings.
